"Somewhere deep inside there is a sound that is mine alone…"
Rachel Naomi Remen
The voice is remarkably truthful. Whether we know it or not, it reveals a great
deal about who we are, how we have lived, and what we are hiding. The deep
journey into an authentic relationship with one's own voice requires courage and
heart, and it is often a deeply moving experience.
I work with individuals who come with a desire to claim their voice, or to
discover the deeper meaning behind vocal problems or blocks. These problems
may range from a sense of disconnection from one's own voice to a feeling that
there is more to be felt, heard, and expressed. They can manifest
in a rigidity in tone, range, and expressivity, or there may have been
vocal injury or damage. Often there is a desire for access to emotional
expression in the voice, or for more strength and power.
If you are eager to uncover hidden aspects of the self through your voice, or
if you feel there is more to know about how you express yourself, if you have
ever felt stifled or muffled, if you are frustrated with how your voice doesn't
truly reflect who you are, then this is the work for you.
We use paints, clay, journalling and movement as we follow the intricate
pathways that open with the opening of the voice
