"This is not a small voice you hear...."
Sonia Sanchez
Our voices tell a story. They reveal where we come from, our willingness to communicate,
how supported we are from within. Many of us carry memories of having been silenced
in one way or another. Our culture dictates what is vocally acceptable,
what is pleasant, and what not to sound like. Consciously or not, we learn to control and limit
what we are each born with: a free, unafraid, pure capacity to communicate.
In our dreams we may be struggling to shout, or our jaws may be locked shut. The
desire to discover a free and uninhibited sound, a sound which is uniquely ours,
is one that is shared by many.
The work of freeing our voices is tied to our psyche and to our bodies.
In this voice work, we go deep. We explore patterns and ways of
thinking which are ours and not-ours. We attend to the dreams which may
accompany the work, and we begin to discover an open channel, a supported
sound and the freedom of learning to rely on our instinctive expression.
I have been working with the voice, the body and the psyche for over 35 years.
If you have a longing to learn more about how to speak with confidence,
how to trust that you have a voice, and the vast possibilities of vocal expression,
