      VOICE

What is the essence of my own authentic voice?
What does voice mean
to me,
what does it mean to have a voice,
to own one's voice, to claim it?

These are some of the questions that come up with clients
and students as
we begin to work with voice.

This is a clay figure of an aspect of
my voice.
She has a lot to
 say, and represents the
joy of making lots of noise
and the feeling

of having a mouth big enough
to express all of what I am feeling.

I made her when I was feeling particularly muzzled,
and I knew
that she held
some essential, unknown aspects of my own
voice.

If you want to learn about your own voice, about its
   possibilities
and its limitations and what you can do to
broaden and deepen its capacities, read on!
